Worland, WY – RT Communications will invest $400,000 in 2019 to continue further build out of our Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network in Worland. This network will replace the traditional copper-based infrastructure. Once this project is complete 60 homes in the Gee, Ponderosa and Wilderness Park subdivisions, along with North Road 11 and County Lane 10 will have fiber. Construction will begin this spring and cut overs will occur this summer.
At the end of this build, over 3332 homes and businesses in Worland will have access to internet speeds up to 1 Gbps (1,000 Mbps), which is 100 times faster than the average speed available in Wyoming. RT Communications is Gig certified by NTCA, The Rural Broadband Association.
RT Communications customers in Worland do not need to sign up to be included in the FTTH network.
Becky Dooley, Vice President/GM, says, “RT Communications is continuing to move forward with our Fiber-to-the-Home networks in Worland, Newcastle and Pine Bluffs for 2019. We are deeply committed to the communities we serve and realize that upgrading these rural areas of Wyoming with fiber optic networks provide an unmatched advantage to our customers.”
