3.31.20 – RANGE COMPANIES OFFERS FREE INTERNET TO STUDENTS

As part of our continued response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Range Companies – Range Telephone Cooperative, Inc., RT Communications, Inc., and Dubois Telephone Exchange, Inc. – are coordinating with school districts in their subscriber areas to identify students that have a need for internet service in order to continue their education at home.

The Range Companies are providing free installation and internet service to K-12 and college students through June 12th, 2020.

3.25.20 – RANGE COMPANIES, FCC, PLEDGE TO KEEP AMERICA CONNECTED

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the challenges that many Americans will face in the coming months, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai recently announced the Keep Americans Connected Initiative. This ensures that Americans do not lose their broadband or telephone connectivity as a result of these exceptional circumstances, Pai specifically asked broadband and telephone service providers, and trade associations, to take the Pledge. The Range Companies – Range Telephone Cooperative, Inc., RT Communications, Inc., Dubois Telephone Exchange, Inc. and Advanced Communications Technology, Inc. – are proud to be among those service providers who have pledged to Keep Americans Connected.

3.19.20 – RANGE POSTPONES ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

Range Telephone Cooperative, Inc. has postponed its 67th Annual Meeting of the Members, which was scheduled to be in Sheridan, Wyoming on Wednesday, May 6, 2020.

The annual meeting is being postponed due to the recommendations which have been made by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention regarding gatherings of 10 or more people. The Annual meeting has been postponed until such time as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the State of Montana, and the State of Wyoming have changed their recommendations regarding events and group gatherings.

Range’s Bylaws allow the Cooperative to continue its business and that failure to hold the Annual Meeting at the designated time will not cause a forfeiture or dissolution of the Cooperative based on the language in Article III, Section 1 of the Cooperative Bylaws. Furthermore, Article IV, Section 2 and Article VI, Section 2 allow the current directors and officers to continue their current positions until their successors have been elected and qualified.

“We want to assure our members that the Board of Trustees, management, and the staff of the Range Companies will continue to provide services to its Members and customers through this uncertain time,” said Rob Johnstone, Range’s CEO.  “The Annual Membership Meeting will be rescheduled as soon as reasonably possible following the lifting of the COVID-19 restrictions, but until such time, the Range Companies will continue to provide services to its Members and customers.”

3.18.20 – Office Announcement

In an effort to heed the advice of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and implement “Social Distancing” regarding the Coronavirus Pandemic, RT is closing its office doors to the public until further notice.

Please use the Drop Box to your left or use the Drop Box located at City Hall. If you are entering to apply for service, please call us at 347-7000 and we will get in touch with you. All our services can be applied for with a phone call to one of our Customer Service Representatives.

If you are a service delivery person, please knock on the door loudly or call 347-7000 and someone will meet you. If this is an emergency, please call 911.

3.16.20 – Letter to Customers

To Our Customers,

The safety and well-being of the communities we serve, and our employees is of utmost importance. As part of the commitment, we wanted to take a moment to share our current stance and practice as it relates to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

In short, we are monitoring the situation closely, reviewing our current practices and adjusting our course of business based on current State and Federal recommendation.

Most of the work we do to provide you services can be done with little or no face to face contact. Please keep the following in mind:

  • Most service troubles can be addressed remotely. Please continue to call us at 800.647.9841 and let us help you resolve the issues.
  • Many office visits can be eliminated by a phone call to 800.647.9841.
  • Payments can be done securely and electronically by phone at 800.647.9841 or by visiting https://www.rtcom.net/support/payment-options/. Worland customers may use our drop box in front of the building, or the drop box located at city hall.
  • We cannot send a technician to a location where anyone has a contagious illness. When you call in for a service issue, we will ask you if everyone at the location is healthy before we dispatch.
  • Appointments for new services or additions are scheduled days/weeks in advance. If you develop a contagious illness near the date of the appointment, we ask that you contact us to reschedule the appointment, so we are not exposing our technicians or contributing to the spread of the illness.

We are committed to keeping you up to date as developments arise. While we always regret missed opportunities to visit with you in person, your safety, along with our employees’ safety, is our utmost priority.
